Nas & Damien Marley's highly anticipated collaboration album, "Distant Relatives" was released on Tuesday, and The Dead Weather's Sophomore Album, "Sea of Cowards" was released last Friday. both of these albums are definitely worth checking out. another recent release worth looking into: The Deftone's "Diamond Eyes." 

some other upcoming releases: Reflection Eternal's "Back Again," and The Black Key's "Brothers."


try to pay for those. or at least listen to them in your car REALLY REALLY loudly.

because los angeles has been blessed with gorgeous weather recently, i spent last sunday cavorting around the marina. the passing sail and fishing boats made for an appropriate backdrop to the nautical theme of this outfit (i didn't plan that... i swear).

who wears high shorts?

i used to make fun of my mother for wearing shorts like these, and now i'm borrowing them from her. mother may not always know best, but she was way ahead of her time on this one.

my latest acquisition: a pair of vintage high-waisted Guess denim shorts. with a stitch-reinforced cuff, no less! sweeeeeeet.

and since we all know everything's more fun on acid (mom didn't teach me that one) i decided to round out my mom-waisted shorts collection with a pair of bow-adorned black acid wash shorts by Judi Rosen.

the best part about these shorts? in my humble opinion, its the size tag. because mom always told me its what's on the inside that counts.

decidedly, i'll start my blog off the way i start a potentially bad day: by putting on some badass shoes.
